Placerville GSC Recap

JUNE 9, 2010 –-- This past Saturday at Placerville we raced round eleven of the Golden State Challenge Series. It was a great night while it lasted as Evan lead the first two laps of the feature. On lap three the red flag came out for a wrecked car and when Ev was pushed-off for the restart it appeared our engine had no oil pressure and we had to exit the track. It was determined a few minutes later that a strip of glue that holds the internals of the oil filter together broke free and plugged the oil pressure gauge giving the impression of no pressure. There was no harm to the engine but the race had long resumed without the 33e.

This week is a special week for Golden State.

We start off Friday at Chico’s Silver Dollar Speedway and then travel up to Medford for a Saturday night at Southern Oregon Speedway and then tow on to Cottage Grove on Monday. On Tuesday we wrap-up the Oregon swing at Willamette Speedway in Lebanon, a track that will be completely new to us.

Oregon is a great place to race. The tracks are well maintained and the fans are among the best…..we look forward to this bit of the yearly schedule and hope to use this stretch to recover from a very disappointing night at Placerville.

Construction on our new A.R.T chassis should be beginning soon and once finished we will have a second car and will be able to resume our 360 schedule at Watsonville. We need to get back out there so Evan can get qualified for the late August running of the Johnny Key Memorial, the annual fifty lap affair at Ocean Speedway.

Well, that’s about it for the weekly report and as always we appreciate that you checked in and hope to see you at the races.

Have a great week…..
