MARCH 15, 2010 –-- Well, I’m not sure if you folks are as sick of the rain as we are, especially when it messes up the sprint car schedule.

This past weekend we were to participate in Chico’s annual two day Mini Gold Cup at Silver Dollar Raceway.

The first night was to be Friday the 12th and with a steady rain that day the race was called pretty early. The promoter’s plan was to do everything possible to get the soaked track ready for the next day, Saturday.

Saturday morning, with everything loaded we jumped in to the truck to begin the four hour drive from Scotts Valley to Chico when Evan’s phone rang. It was crew chief Richard Brown telling us the grounds were simply too wet and day two had also been cancelled.

Evan took the day to get in some additional studying and I got a whole lot of unscheduled yard work done!

On Sunday we got back into the shop and took the time go over the car and get it “just right” for the GSC season opener scheduled for Placerville on March 27th.
