AUGUST 11, 2009 –-- This week we only had one race and it was a Golden State King of California Series event at Watsonville’s Ocean Speedway. We are on the homestretch of the GSC season and only have one more race in this series with the season finale being at Placerville in two weeks. Right now Evan is 4th in points behind Tyler Walker, Brent Kaeding and Jonathon Allard.

Evan’s night started out well qualifying 9th of 26 cars after going out 18th. Given the quickly drying track that effort was very good. Evan proceeded to win his heat by a large margin but none of the top eight qualifiers failed to finish worse than 4th in their heats so that meant Evan missed the Dash by one position. 

Starting the Feature in 9th was not too bad but on the 24th lap Evan spun and had to go to the rear of the un-lapped cars and eventually finished in the 11th position.

The GSC is taking this weekend off for the Knoxville Nationals but we do have a GLR winged 360 race at Ocean Speedway this Friday. If you have not experienced this track you need to come out, it is a special place.
