PLACERVILLE, CA (3-28-09) –-- The GSC Series opened this year at Placerville, “Knoxville on the Hill”. Twenty six cars were present including the likes of Tyler Walker, Tim, Brent and Bud Kaeding, Jonathan Allard and Andy Forsberg.
Evan was the fourth from last car to qualify and ran a stunning 9.913 to tie the track record held for the last four years by Tim Kaeding.
In the first turn of his heat race Evan went off the track. Damaged and unable to return to the heat race he was forced to run the B Main where he finished second and transferred to the A Main. In the thirty lap Main Event Evan was able to make his way from 9th to 4th only to be passed on the white flag lap by the amazing
Tim Kaeding, thus finishing 5th for the evening.
It’s on to Watsonville’s Ocean Speedway for a Friday night 360 race and then to Antioch the next day for round two of the Golden State Challenge traveling 410 series.
Suggs Racing wishes to thank Ashley Smith of the Zero’s Heroes for is help in getting the car repaired in time for the B.
